D&A Companies Annual Chili Cook Off

On February 24th, National Chili Day, D&A employees came together to put on another flavorful chili cookoff. Mike Hughes & Judy Watson- Williams, started the chili contest, the earliest one we are sure of was the first year we were in this building on Victory View. The first two pots turned into years worth of chili contests. Traditionally, the event was held close to Super Bowl Sunday.

Congratulations to Brian Summers for being voted first place! I talked with him a bit on his secret ingredients: fire roasted poblano & chileno peppers with smoked onions. When asked where his talent comes from, it's his mom, she taught him how to cook. His prize is bragging rights for the next year, and they are well deserved. His title for this next year is The Chili Champ!

By the time I made it to the break room for lunch, unfortunately most of the chili was gone, but there was a big pot of chicken soup to try! Oh, and Jon’s Pig Shots!!

As the company continues to grow, so do the size of our parties - and your oppor- tunity to participate! We had six entries this year and a total of eleven judges. Huge shout out to every-one, thanks for pitching in!
